Singing
is one of the most important forms of prayer. A few words sung
over and
over again to instrumental accompaniment reinforce the meditative
quality
of the prayer. They express a
basic
reality of faith that can quickly be grasped by the intellect and that
gradually penetrates the heart and the whole being.
Taizé
is an ecumenical community in France whose members live out the gospel
through
reconciliation. Their form of praying introduces people to
meditative
prayer with simple melodies woven in succession into a kind of
tapestry
of continuous prayer. The underlying aim is to enter together
into the
mystery of God's presence.

Ministers’
Curling League – Start Date Change
The
Ministers’ Curling League invites you to join us for a fun, tactical,
and
competitive way to relax with a bunch of like-minded clergy and others
with a
strong
church
connection. Starting September 21,2009 the League begins its Fall 2009
round on
Monday afternoons.
Our
curling
League is many different things:
-
it is a gathering of women and men who curl on Monday afternoons at the
Vancouver Curling Club, 4460 Dinmount St.
(just east of Cambie on 29th Avenue).
-
some of us are skilled, most of us are not.
-
all of us enjoy the exercise and good fellowship.
-
some of us are ministers, some are not.
-
we welcome theological students, friends, anyone who would find 1:00 to
3:15 on
Mondays a convenient time to curl.
While
curling normally begins at 1pm, at the beginning of the year we arrive
at 11:30
am with a bag-lunch. Come to get acquainted, check teams and curl.
